A Little TOO Kid Friendly

Josh-Duggar-Jared-Fogle-Shawty-Lo

“There is none that doeth good, no not one.” Psalm 14:3

In July, investigators searching Subway darling Jared Fogle’s home with a fine-tooth comb and flashlights uncovered a pedofile lurking in Zionsville.  Travel records and text messages rained down on the former Subway spokesman like onions on a sandwich.  When the public learned that Jared used business trips to cover out-of-town $ex encounters with underage pro$titute$, not only did Subway (who found lovable Jared a little too kid friendly) regret breaking bread with him, the binky nearly tumbled out of rapper Lil Jon’s mouth.

A Baby’s Gotta Do What A Baby’s Gotta Do

Ariana-Grande-licks-donutWhen baked goods are allowed to bask naked in the freedom of open air, the least of its problems is a (likely spearminted) lick from a baby-faced pop princess.

Sometime it’s easy to hate America.

So quick is it to take to Social Media and fire up the pan to caramelize our Little Sweetie, Ariana Grande, most Americans, hypocrites that they are, never would have noticed or even complained that the baked goods were open air baked goods.

Nothing As It Seems

nothing-as-it-seems

If Bruce and Brittney's truth can be embraced, why can't Rachel's?

When nothing is as it seems, it places stress on the mind and causes strife in society.

Recently, the top stories trending have involved people not appearing as they seem.  Characters appearing as caricatures of themselves.

Bruce Jenner became Caitlyn. WNBA star, Brittney Griner, learned—in the words of Maury Povich—she is not the father of her wife’s unborn child.

And lastly, but not the last of the multitude of those yet to come out of Pandora’s box, came Rachel Dolezal.

Bold, Brave, No Filter

Taryn-Manning-Cleveland-Abduction

Actress Taryn Manning becomes Michelle Knight in Cleveland Abduction.

Taryn Manning’s mom may have been horrified for her daughter’s sanity for playing the role of Michelle Knight.  But from what we can tell, it takes great depth of skill and attention to the smallest detail to find the heart of seemingly unlovable victims covered in so much grit and soot.  Taryn Manning is pure genius at work when delivering lines with that raspy voice, with delivering every expression of her petite body, down to the twitch of her bare foot.

I Am A Woman

Anatomy or noggin?

“I am the Queen of England.”

                                     “I am Beyonce.”

                                                                          “I am a giraffe.”

              “I am a baby.”

                                     “I am a woman.”

Being.

Is it in your anatomy or your noggin?

Your first instinct is to look the person over and search for truth.  Then if the person is not the Queen or even Queen Bey or a talking giraffe or a baby (but a man in a giant diaper and play pen) or not even a woman, your first instinct is to think:

“Hmmm, someone has a vivid imagination.”

What’s even weirder is that while the anatomy may not match the noggin-speak, what a person thinks and feels about herself too often, good or bad, becomes her reality.

Such is the tragic case of . . .

Bruce-Jenner-undergoing-gender-transitioning

Bruce of 1972: "Bruce, is that more or less you?" Bruce of 2015: "In some places, more...some places, less."

If two or three broken marriages, two or three sets of kids, setting the record for the decathlon, which earned him a gold medal in the 1976 Summer Olympics of Montreal, taught us anything, it taught us that William Bruce Jenner never takes the road less traveled.  Now that Bruce Jenner is 65 and divorced from the Kardashian matriarch, switching lanes, it seems it’s all about earning some shine for himself alone, garnering a little attention for himself alone.

Alone.

Is There Another?

Run, Hillary, run!

Her good eye on the prize!

Please . . . is there another?

Look, this is not a vote for yet a-nother Bush

if Hillary Clinton’s all we got?!!

But (please) . . . say there is another.

Sorry . . . You Got Caught

Detective-Patrick-Cherry-demoted

It's one thing to say, "I'm sorry." It's another to mean it.

Saying you’re sorry these days is like saying, “That’s neither here nor there.”

Sounds good.

But it pretty much means nothing.

It’s protocol.

You mess up. The media finds footage of it.  You offer up an apology in the hopes that what you hold dear is not yanked away from you like a gigantic, ubersticky band-aid.  You and victim move forward.

For, tomorrow’s another day!

Mourners-visit-French-Alps-after-Germanwings-crash-March-24-2015

Mental illness is rarely this black and white.

The French mountainside may as well have been an ocean. The pain that shook the mountain has, like an earthquake, rippled from shore to shore.

After learning that Andreas Lubitz, the 27-year-old pilot responsible for taking his life and the lives of 149 others, was suspected of deliberately crashing Germanwings Flight 4U9525, I thought, 27?  Only 27?  Wow, a pilot at 27?  His parents must have been so proud.  Then I thought of the horror of the 149 . . . the helplessness they must have felt . . . and the “Oh, God, why have you forsaken me?” feelings . . . and the sudden claustrophobia and suffocating despair that must have fallen upon them before the mountain.  How sad? The very accomplishment which caused one family so much pride has now caused them and others a world of devastation.
