The Other Brother

Adam-Carolla-George-Clooney

Adam could evolve . . . into George.

Now that Amal Alamuddin has worked her Houdini on George Clooney–seducing him into marriage with those cow’s eyes like Pan’s flute–and since hindsight is 20-80 (nearly legally blind), we all realize now we should have snagged his fraternal twin brother Adam Carolla.

Except while women like men who make them laugh, even fewer like clowns.  If you squint they’re like funhouse mirror images, practically identical.

But if Adam Carolla were ever curious . . . he could evolve into George.

With the magic of bridgework; a demolition to lighten a heavy drawbridge of a chin; and a colossal personality transplant because–supposedly everybody knows–rich people are “better than poor people.  They just are.”

In the meantime, to prevent an uglier America, from the great speech “The Great Society,” Blackbiter leaves you with words of greater wisdom:

“…Will you join in the battle to give every citizen the full equality which God enjoins and the law requires—whatever his belief, or race, or the color of his skin?

Lyndon-B-Johnson

“We live in a world that has narrowed into a neighborhood before it has broadened into a brotherhood.” Lyndon B. Johnson

Will you join in the battle to give every citizen an escape from the crushing weight of poverty?

Will you join in the battle to make it possible for all nations to live in enduring peace–as neighbors and not as mortal enemies ?

Will you join in the battle to build the Great Society, to prove that our material progress is only the foundation on which we will build a richer life of mind and spirit?

There are those timid souls who say this battle cannot be won; that we are condemned to a soulless wealth. I do not agree….”

President Lyndon B. Johnson’s commencement address to The University of Michigan, 50 years ago, May 22, 1964.

Have we become An Ugly America, a nation of soulless wealth, a nation whose only concern is “dead presidents”?
