Judge Turns Fashion Police

How low can you go?

Ohio judge says: "No crack on the streets . . . or in the courtroom!"

In Ohio, Lorain Municipal Court Judge Mark Mihok held Durrell Brooks in contempt of court on Thursday, June 14, because Brooks’ pants were riding so low, his underwear was showing.  The judge then sentenced him, pants and shoulders sagging, to jail for seventy-two hours.  Three whole days!

Rodney King: victim of police brutality and troubled soul

Rodney Glen King: April 2, 1965 - June 17, 2012

Rodney Glen King has died at 47.  King’s fiancée, Cynthia Kelly (a juror serving at his civil trial), found him at the bottom of his pool early Sunday morning in Rialto, California.

The easy breezy Lakes of old have dried up.  They have come up empty.  Fruitless and barren as the dry ground.  Spurs are rusting by the side of the road.  Discarded like a set of dull Clippers.  Those who have lost Pace have been Nixed in a matter of New York minutes.  “Bless me lucky charms,” even the luck of the Irish could not save them.

Hmmm, what to do? What to do?

I was just sitting on the plantation—I mean, porch.  I was just rocking in my rocking chair, watching the trees sway in the breeze, and reminiscing about the ancestors.  In the middle of sipping on some tea-flavored sugar—I mean, sweet tea—I thought I heard a distant murmur.  Lo and behold, there were voices.  Almost familiar, they were the voices of Toya’s family from BET’s Toya: A Family Affair whispering, like the wind through the trees, around me.
